To Honour Your Parents

“To Honour Your Parents”, this prose is about not being taken advantage and not being walked over. We must say no at times, but it doesn’t mean we are not honouring them, it’s a matter of taking care of yourself too before we get runned down.

To Honour Your Parents

To honour your parents, does not mean to be walked all over the place…
To honour your parents, does not mean to be a door mat for them…
To honour your parents, does not mean to be part of their abusive behaviour…
To honour your parents, does not mean to be disrespected by them…
To honour your parents, does not mean to be manipulated by them…
To honour your parents, does not mean to be controlled by them…

But,

To honour your parents, it does mean to be respected by them…
To honour your parents, it does mean to be loved by them…
To honour your parents, it does mean to be pleased by them…
To honour your parents, it does mean to be giving back to them…
To honour your parents, it does mean to be helpful to them…
To honour your parents, it does mean to be appreciated by them…

And Finally,

To honour your parents, it does mean to be grateful by them.

We honour our parents, because that’s what the bible says to do. When we have been respected all our lives, we want to give back to our own parents as they get older, we would like to treat them the way we were treated with love. When we were treated badly in life by them, and sometimes it can be hard to honour them, because of all the hurt we have endured. If that hurt continues, we are not to honour those negative experience, but the positive ones. It works both ways in the end, because we in the end as kids growing up learned how to treat ourselves, family and friends, but it first starts at home. So, let us start honouring our kids the way we want to be treated, so they know how to honour their parents as they grow up.

Labelling

This prose, Labelling, is about being labelled all the time and so it affects the way we think and act. We shouldn’t let labels define us; we as an individual are the only ones who can define ourselves.

Labelling

It’s about telling someone that their stupid, a loser etc…

It’s about telling someone that they are not good enough…

It’s about telling someone that they are not smart enough…
It’s about telling someone that they are a dyke or a fag…

It’s about telling someone that they are disastrous…

It’s about telling someone that they are a mistake…

It’s about telling someone that they are unworthy…

It’s about telling someone that they are challenged…

It’s about telling someone that they are closed minded…

And Finally,

It’s about telling someone that they their dreams isn't realistic and they must smarten up. Growing up, we hear things and get told different messages. For some it’s very positive and for some it’s not. We learn to judge people at an early age and so we label them as we grow. Labels can be detrimental to us, because we learn to believe some of it and it affects how we live. We must not let labels define us. We are unique as an individual and only the real people in our lives will accept us for us. Don’t be afraid to show who you really are, because you are smart, beautiful, and unique and that’s what really counts the most!

Easter

“Easter”, is a holiday where we celebrate the Risen Christ, who died for our sins.  Let us rejoice and be glad in it, because he is Risen Halleluiah Halleluiah.

Easter
Is about renewal...
Is about new life...
Is about new beginnings...
Is about celebrations...
Is about a baby being born today...
Is about the Resurrection of the Son of God...
Is about getting together with family and/or friends...
Is about forgiveness...
Is about rebirth...
Is about the Easter Bunny...
Is about letting go and moving forward with life...
And Finally,
Is about going through different changes. Easter is a symbol to different people and different faiths. In the Christian faith, God gave His only Son to die for our sins so that we may have New Life. The Easter Bunny symbolizes new life in Christ and the egg symbolizes rebirth and resurrection. We need to embrace new life by celebrating what we have today. Whatever we believe in, we must see life as new beginnings, and the fact that each time we wake up, we have been given a second chance to do what we weren’t able to do. Live for today like it is your last, and forgive and pray for those who have hurt you, you may not have that second chance.

Love

Love...

Is about giving that emotion back to a loved one...
Is about spending time with your family and/or friends...
Is about giving of self to the one in need...
Is about turning the other cheek even though it hurts...it is the right thing to do...
Is about giving a child a new home through adoption to a loving family...
Is about bringing a child into the world and watch him grow...
Is about spending time with your child...they will remember that when they grow up...
Is about giving a smile to a stranger who then smiles back...
Is about loving ourselves...
Is about spending time with your pet, they always love you back!
Is about giving a kind word...

And finally,

Is about taking care of ourselves. We rarely take time for ourselves with the business of the world these days. We always get the message of “go go go”, and not “hold on, take it easy, there is always tomorrow”. Sometimes we feel guilty to take time for ourselves because of the demands out there. We must refocus our energy by taking one day at a time, and one thing at a time. When we do this, we feel relaxed, knowing that we took time out for ourselves and being able to give to those in need as well.

We Cry

We Cry..

Because we just feel sad...
Because we just feel hurt...
Because we just feel frustrated...
Because we just feel overwhelming...
Because we just feel no one is listening...
Because we just feel pain in our hearts....
Because we just feel we are not being heard...
Because we just feel we are not understood...
Because we just feel we are alone in this world...
Because we just feel we are unable to make it through...

And Finally,

Because we just feel we are not worth it at times. Sometimes crying can be a release for some and for some just a stress relief from all the frustrations from their workplace and from all the expectations of the world. We are expected to do so much and wonder how and when we can do it and then we just get overwhelmed, because we get lost in between the hustle and bustle that we forget that we cannot do this alone. We are never alone, because God is right there with us when we are unable to go on. He feels our pain and Hears our cries. He is there to comfort us, and help us through the difficult times where we just can't seem to get through that one day. We must learn to trust, listen and reach out, because He is always there to help.
